Alicia Keys In North Wales

Alicia Keys Sings About North Wales

Alicia Keys says it in her parody song about North Wales that you really should visit if you get the chance. North Wales is somewhere that I have lived longest in my life. I have always considered it a beautiful place to have lived and I have little doubt that it is a truly wonderful place to have a holiday.

The coasts of North Wales can be rugged, sandy or just plain touristy. There is a beach to suit every type of holidaymaker, a piece of coast for every type of mood. Move inland to the emerald green fields, the mountains, the castles and the lakes and be blown away by the beauty.

The Welsh Language is more commonly spoken in North Wales than in any other part of Wales and in some towns and villages it would be unusual to hear English in conversation. Everybody speaks English of course and a welcome is given to all.

North Wales has its own traditional meals as well. Eating out is part of every holiday adventure and whereas all the familiar foods are there it should be everyone's plan to try something new every day.

Get Out Of London

North Wales is just a few hours away on the train from London. For a few days at least visitors should take Alicia Keys advice and leave the city behind. Get away, head for Colwyn Bay. Take the bus to Llandudno. Visit the Great Orme and the Roman copper mines.

Hire a car or take a bus or train and make your way to the place with the longest place name in Wales... Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. Even Alicia Keys would have a problem singing a word like that.

Don't forget the Welsh Mountain Zoo, the views are spectacular from there. On a clear day you can stand in one spot and see the English Lake District, The Isle of Man and the mountains of Mourne in Norther Ireland. Turn around a bit and there is the Snowdonia range. You can even see Blackpool Tower if your eyesight is keen. The zoo itself, a good family day out.

Go on...visit North Wales!

Good hub, if I had the $ that's all I'd do. I've been lucky enough to see a good bit of the world but never England, Wales or Ireland, all of which I'd love to visit before I check out. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch? Really? Peace!! Tom

justom - great places to visit Tom and yes it really is a place name. I am pleased to say that I have been able to pronounce it (badly) since I was 11 years old.
