National Condom Day

National Condom Day - Valentine' Day is just around the corner. Valentine's Day is the day for lovers and whereas there will be cards and flowers exchanged and more than a few candle lit dinners there will be a bit of 'nooky' too. Those who have read Valentine's Day Tiger will be aware that Valentine's Day is also National Condom Day. It is also International Condom Day.

Although the condom has always had a role to play in sexual health, it's primary purpose has been as a method of birth control. The condom provides choices in family planning but it also prevents pregnancies where the idea of producing a child is the very last thing in a lustful mind.

Our world is in a mess. Pollution, starvation, reduced resources, forest loss, over fishing, habitat destruction, overcrowding, climate change. All are interlinked and hand in hand with the undeniable fact that there are just too many of us on our very crowded planet. Lets not have any more unwanted births started this Valentine's Day. It is National Condom Day.

Wear A Condom To Help Save Wildlife. Remember that 2010 was the Year of the Tiger and 2011 is the year of the Rabbit. With more people more forests will be felled, more rivers polluted, more wilderness destroyed. Think before you make love, before lust clouds your judgement. Wear a Condom and Save a Tiger and remember what they say about Rabbits....Save Our Planet.

What a great message your sending out, Peter! I always use one-even if the girl claims that she's "on the pill" or in one instance, the girl in question told me her "tubes were tied." I'm just not sure what I'm afraid of more-bringing a child into this world out of wedlock or getting a disease! I'm certainly in agreement with you! Thanks again!

Thanks dohn - To be honest I wouldn't mind another bunch of children but I can't afford them and doubt I would be around long enough to enjoy watching them grow. Besides, it is as I say. There are just too many of us on this little planet right now. Someone said the other day that there are right now more people living than have ever lived since man appeared. Frightening thought.

Hello, hello - Thank you. I too wish the Pope could be convinced and at the same time some other religions be persuaded that more is not better. Sadly in a lot of the world there is no pensions or security. It is only having more children that you know you will be fed and have a roof over your head in old age.

Hahaha, Sir Peter. You did it again! Anyway, we had a visitor yesterday (11Feb2010) at my sister's apartment here in Manila. Daddy Groovy, a widower, is 82 years old now but he's still has the urge to do it on Valentine's Day without using viagra (laughs). He's with her newest and probably his last girlfriend, my sister's sister-in-law. We gave him a send off party before going to the USA after the celebration. "One last round" - that's the meaningful words to his fiancee before winking at us. He said to me whispering, "Ï'm not going to use a condom."

travel_man1971 - At 82 he probably isn't going to start a baby. But you never know. Ha Ha.

Peter -- did you ever get to Chiang Rei in Thailand, where there is a extremely good restaurant called Condoms & Cabbage, As you leave you are given a 3-pack iof condoms. The concept was to provide condoms for visitors who came to take advantage of the disadvatanged and ill used young women of Chaing Rei who were overburdoming the city coffers with unwanted babies.
