Older Women and Younger Men

Relationships between Older Women and Younger Men are becoming increasingly common and at the same time more acceptable. It is an odd but not unusual reversal of preferences as many of these women would have by choice had a partner some years older than themselves when they were in their teens. Most teenage girls view boys of a similar age as 'childish' or immature.

Things change and somewhere in their late thirties the appeal of a younger man will start to take hold and, if not restricted by commitment to a permanent partner, the choice of dates is greatly widened.

In times past such women would be considered 'cradle snatchers' and looked down upon by some. Now many are viewed with respect and the title 'Cougar' is a more common term. There are even dating sites to fulfil this very need.

Older Men and Younger Women is already an established part of our society today. The Older Woman and Younger Man relationship is lagging only a little bit behind.

• If we accept that a relationship is for breeding then, biologically it would make sense for a 30+ year old woman to choose a younger virile 20 year old male. Today, many women are choosing to start their families later in life. This ties in directly with the bodies signals which indicate a greater interest in sex as fertility decreases.

Breeding apart, there are other reasons:

• Women in their 30's and 40's today are more sexually active and more comfortable about sex. They are, according to studies, more inclined to fantasise and have 'one night stands'.
• A young lover makes a woman feel younger.
• As the older 'partner' she has a more dominant role which may have been missing in a previous 'conventional' relationship.
• Fun with a capital 'F'.

Then of course there is Love, Companionship, Trust, Sharing, Give and Take, in fact everything one would expect out of ANY relationship.

The older woman with the younger man is probably as common as the other way round... and why not? If you don't mind then it does not matter and it should not matter to anyone else either.

It is not the domain of the wealthy but it is when someone famous hooks up that we are most likely to learn about it.

Amanda Redman at 52 had a partner 12 years younger. She had previous partners who were 20 and 22 years her junior.

Joan Collins 32 years older than her husband

Madonna was 28 years older than Jesus Luz

Edna Townsend was 39 years older than Simon Martin....and they were not famous

Gina Lollobrigida was of course and she was 34 years older

Probably the biggest difference was that of a Malaysian couple where 104 year old Wook Kunder was 71 years older than her husband!

Like Men with younger women the Older Woman has to face the flak when some people become aware of the relationship. There are the inevitable 'Toy Boy' and 'Mrs Robinson' remarks as well as much worse.

Relationships are up to the individuals concerned. Male or Female if you are happy then don't let the jealousy and ignorance of others get you down.
