Sun Rises Two Days Early To Warn Us All

Global Warning

At shortly before 13.00 hrs on the 11th of January 2011 the first rays of sun crept over the horizon. Sunrise had begun. It was two days early! A global warning of global warming. One which we will be stupid to ignore.

In Greenlands most Westerly town of Ilulissat the sun makes its usual appearance on the 13th of January heralding an end to the six week long winter of darkness. You could set your clocks by it. Not this year. Two whole days early!

It has nothing to with the earth tilting on it's axis or the sun making an odd move it is simply a case of ice melting.

Imagine your house is a valley and the sun appears over the top of the mountain at 09.00 each morning. Then some mining company comes and quarries away a few hundred feet off the top of the mountain. Your sunrise is going to be fifteen minutes earlier.

That is just what has happened here except it is the melting on the polar ice cap which has hastened in the sun. Next year it may be two or three days earlier still.

The sun has given us warning which we will be foolish to ignore.

I think we should all take note because it is really scary. In South Africa we are getting floods way more than the normal 100 year cycle of flooding. It is simply too many places at once to be "normal" and it is also a warning from nature.

You are right Hendrika it really isn't normal. Weather patterns are changing globally. Ok it probably has happened before....but is probably before we evolved to walk on land.

Hello, hello, - A bit worrying and yet we still have people who don't believe in climate change.
